GoHighLevel vs Kajabi: which one should an agency run clients on?

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-03

Quick answerPick GoHighLevel to manage several client accounts from $97 a month. Pick Kajabi, from $179 a month, when one expert business sells courses, coaching and memberships.

GoHighLevel fits many client accounts; Kajabi fits one knowledge business

For an agency, GoHighLevel is the better fit, because its plans are counted in client sub-accounts while Kajabi plans are counted in products, contacts and websites for a single business. HighLevel Starter gives three sub-accounts with unlimited contacts and users. Kajabi Basic gives one website, five products and 2,500 contacts.

That does not make Kajabi the weaker product. It is a different one. Kajabi packages courses, coaching, communities, podcasts, newsletters and its own payment processing for a person or brand that sells expertise. If your client is that kind of business and wants to own the account, Kajabi can be the right recommendation even when your agency runs everything else on HighLevel.

Entry prices: HighLevel Starter $97, Kajabi Basic $179

As read on each vendor's pricing page on 3 October 2026, HighLevel Starter costs $97 a month or $970 a year. Kajabi Basic costs $179 a month on monthly billing, or $143 a month when billed annually, which Kajabi labels as a 20% saving.

The next steps up are Unlimited at $297 a month for HighLevel and Growth at $249 a month ($199 on annual billing) for Kajabi. Kajabi Pro is $499 a month, or $399 on annual billing. The two bills grow for different reasons: HighLevel adds usage charges for phone, SMS, email and AI, which the HighLevel cost breakdown covers, while Kajabi adds payment fees and sells extra contacts in blocks of 25,000 for $125 a month.

What HighLevel lists that Kajabi does not, and the reverse

  • Only on the HighLevel page: sub-accounts, inbound and outbound calling, SMS marketing, a white-labeled web app, and on Agency Pro at $497 a month, SaaS Mode with rebilling of usage at a markup.
  • Only on the Kajabi page: podcasts and newsletters as product types, a coaching product, Kajabi Payments as an in-house processor, and a branded mobile app shown in the plan comparison. HighLevel connects outside processors such as Stripe and PayPal instead.
  • On both: a website and funnel builder, email marketing, a contact CRM, automations, courses and communities.

Kajabi states that it takes no revenue share on sales. HighLevel's page makes no statement either way about a cut of sales, so check the payment setup before you promise a client a net figure.

Which buyer each platform suits

Choose HighLevel if you are an agency with several clients, need phone and text follow-up, or plan to resell software under your own brand. One $297 Unlimited plan covers every client you add. The agency guide to GoHighLevel works through that case.

Choose Kajabi if the buyer is a single coach, author or course creator who wants content delivery, checkout and email in one login and has no need for sub-accounts. An agency that tried to run ten such clients on Kajabi would be buying ten subscriptions, because Basic and Growth each include one website.

If neither fits, the list of GoHighLevel alternatives for agencies compares other options.

Moving contacts and courses between Kajabi and HighLevel

Contacts move by CSV. Kajabi's help center gives the export route, and HighLevel's gives the import rules.

  1. In Kajabi, open Contacts, filter or select the people you want, then choose Bulk Actions and Export.
  2. Kajabi emails a download link to the account address. The link expires after three days.
  3. In HighLevel, an admin user imports the file from Contacts. The file must be a single-sheet CSV under 30MB with a header row.
  4. Map each column to a HighLevel field, then choose whether to create, update or do both.

Courses, communities, checkout pages and email sequences have no export-and-import path in the documents read for this page, so plan to rebuild them by hand. Going the other way, note that Kajabi limits bulk contact importing during its trial.
